The Bellefonte Academy track team participated in the annual Interscholastic Track and Field Meet, held Friday, May 3rd at the Pennsylvania State College in State College, PA Although not in the top three teams, the Academy boys put forth good effort and carried their colors high. Collopy was the most outstanding Academy entrant, but Schneider and John Koch (an Academy basketball standout) also brought honor to the Academy.
Collopy started the day with a third place finish in the 100 yard dash and followed that effort with a third place finish in the 220 yard dash.
At a greater distance, the 440 yard dash, John Koch finished second.
The Academy boys dominated the Running Broad Jump. Schneider finished first with a jump of 20 feet 6 1/2 inches and Collopy took second.
